Customer Service

Frequently asked questions

What happens after I sign my contract?
When you sign our customer contract and direct debit instruction we send your details to NIE who hold the Central Registration System. They cross check the system and contact your existing supplier, requesting your release. A meter reading will be taken and you will receive your final bill from your current supplier. You will then become an Energia customer.
Who reads my meter?
Your meter is read by NIE four times per year. They pass the information to Energia for billing purposes. These are known as 'actual reads'. Your bills will be calculated using estimated readings known as 'profiles' that use the 'actual reads' to build up a consumption pattern.
Customers with On-Line Meters will continue to have the information downloaded as normal.
