Energy efficiency grants

Variable Speed Drives

We currently have grants available for applicants who are installing variable speed drives to pump, compressors and fans etc. The grant assistance we provide is up to 33% of the cost of the equipment. Companies will also benefit from a free survey by experienced engineers who recommended fittings, costs, estimated annual savings and payback periods Typically the pay pack for these schemes is less than two years. Our approved contractors are:

Ashdale Engineering Limited » www.ashdale.co.uk
Ashdale Engineering Limited is an Engineering company based in Belfast, having over 30 years in systems engineering and electrical distribution. The company has progressively emerged as Northern Ireland’s leading company for industrial Automation solutions and is ever improving an impressive array of services and products.

Keeping Energy Prices In The Frame

One of Northern Ireland’s most successful manufacturers, Camden Group, participated in Energia’s 2006/07 Energy Efficiency Grant Scheme. The company has invested in an energy efficient variable speed drive compressor to help maintain its competitive edge.

The variable speed drive should significantly reduce the company’s electricity usage. The energy savings are so significant that the payback period for the installation of the energy efficient technology is less than two years.

Camden

The door and window frame maker which employs 460 workers in it’s Antrim plant says energy prices are having a major impact on our competitiveness and the need to reduce consumption is more urgent than ever.

"We have opted for Energia’s grant-aided efficiency scheme which should see our investment paid back within two years," says Camden Group Project Manager Lindsay McDowell. "The reduction in the compressors electricity consumption should be in the region of fifty per cent."

"The variable speed drive compressor will help us reduce consumption very effectively and we would recommend anyone in business to sign up to the scheme which is currently grant aided by Energia" says Mr McDowell.
