Easter Eggspress Belfast

Easter Bunny will be on board and all ticket holding children will receive an Easter egg.
All tickets cost £15. Children under 3 years of age not occupying a seat do not need a ticket. However, children of any age travelling on the Easter trains must have a valid ticket - if they wish to receive an Easter egg.
Light refreshments and bar service available on board the train and the station cafe will also be open. No buggies can be carried on these trains. No dogs allowed except guide dogs

Leonardo Da Vinci: Life In Drawings

An exhibition which will provide an unparalleled insight into the workings of the artist's mind, 'Leonardo da Vinci: A Life in Drawing' is part of a nationwide event organised by Royal Collection Trust to mark 500 years since the Renaissance master's death. In total, 144 of Leonardo's drawings will go on display in 12 simultaneous exhibitions across the UK, in an initiative designed to give the widest-ever UK audience the opportunity to see the work of this extraordinary artist.
The Ulster Museum's exhibition will include two of Leonardo's most famous works – The Head of St Anne, made around 1510 in preparation for his famous masterpiece The Virgin and Child with St Anne, which hangs in the Louvre, and an anatomical drawing from 1489, The Skull Sectioned.
The exhibition will include examples of all the drawing materials employed by the artist, including pen and ink, red and black chalks, watercolour and metal-point.

Painting the Town: 20th-Century View of Lisburn

Trip-trap went the Three Billy Goats Gruff on their adventure to find some lovely green grass!  They trip-trapped here they trip-trapped there until they could see a hill full of grass!  To get to the grassy hill they have to cross a bridge, but the bridge is home to the meanest Troll in all the lands!  Will they be able to get pass the Troll or will the Troll Gobble them all up?  There is only one way to find out!

This year Huntington Castle in Carlow hosts their annual treasure hunt around the garden – armed with a basket and a set of clues, each child will head off on a quest for golden nuggets (with a chocolate surprise at the end!). Kilfenora Traditional Music Festival

From 26-29 April 2019, Kilfenora will stage its 11th annual traditional music festival, a series that commenced in 2009 with the 100th anniversary of the Kilfenora Céilí Band.  With great concerts, céilís, some cracking CD launches and pub sessions, it’s a great line-up.
 
Sessions in Kilfenora’s pubs occur from Friday to Monday, with the cream of musicians from Clare and beyond. Details of featured players will be published close to the time.
The Singers’ night on Friday evening (Linnanes pub) will gather together some of the finest and most humorous singers and storytellers, hosted by Noirin Lynch.
 
Our main concert (Saturday, Kilfenora Hall, 7.00pm) features Ireland’s top fiddle maestro, Frankie Gavin, and his celebrated Roaring 20s Irish Orchestra. The concert will be opened by this year’s winner of an award from the Meitheal Summer School to play at the Kilfenora Trad Festival – Naoise Kettle

At first glance you would think that this oddly names festival was a celebration of Ireland’s favourite beverage, in fact it is named after a local musician – John “the tae” Gallagher. Held annually in Adara, a beautiful part of Donegal this traditional music festival should not be missed. The Phoenix Park

    You could easily spend an entire day exploring Europe’s largest inner-city park. You don’t need to pay for Dublin Zoo to see animals either – Phoenix Park is home to an enormous collection of deer, just wander off into the woodlands to find them. While you’re in the park you can get a first-hand peek at how the President of Ireland lives on a free tour of their official residence, Aras an Uachtaráin. They depart from Phoenix Park Visitor Centre every Saturday and operate on a first-come-first-served basis. Occasionally they might not run due to state business, so always check the website beforehand.

Croke Park Easter Egg Hunt

Bertaw Beach Walk

Bertraw Beach walk, located 12 km from Westport near the little village of Murrisk, is suitable for families, younger children and people of all ages.
It is a 4 km short walk around the peninsula and it can be shorten at any stage by crossing the narrow split of the dunes. At low and mid tide the sandy beach is wide and safe for children to play and walk; at high tide the sea will lap up to your feet and boots or wellingtons are recommended.
The walk directions are very easy to follow: from the car park walk along the beach circling the peninsula in a clockwise direction and reach Ummeraboy Strand along the Gweemore Channel.
From there you can have spectacular views of Croagh Patrick.

For those interested in nature, discovery and adventure, Birr Castle Gardens & Science Centre is the place for you this Easter break.  The team at Birr have created the “Easter Family Quest” which will take the young and maybe not so young explorers on a journey through time, from great engineering feats to wildlife discoveries, and many more highlights in between.   Once the young explorers complete the quest, they return to the playground kiosk and choose from a sweet or fruit treat.

There will be games and tasks that will need doing to show Easter Bunny and his team that you’ve travelled the trail properly. At that stage the Easter Bunny and friends will have a particular chocolate treat to give to each child participating. Festival of Fire

This ancient Pagan festival celebrates the official arrival of the warmer season and the hope of a good harvest to come.  
The event kicks off at 2pm with a blessing and cleansing of the cows. Festival goers can then look forward to a Blacksmith Demonstration and insightful story telling of our ancestors from trained Shamanic healer, storyteller and Priestess of Elen, Baya.
The Festival of fire is a family friendly festival with children are encouraged to dress up, dance around the May Pole to the Celtic Music in the courtyard, partake in the May Bush workshop and witness the creation of the Wicker God.
There is also an opportunity to check out the various stalls with artists showing and trading their unique crafts at the Craft Fare in the gardens. The May Queen Pageant takes place on Monday with the official May Queen crowning taking place at 5pm.

This year, the tulip festival at Powerscourt is back and bigger than ever with an additional 4,000 bulbs planted. The Head Gardener Alex and his team have been working hard for months, selecting both favourite and unusual tulip varities, planning layout and colour schemes, and of course, planting and tending to the bulbs to ensure a beautiful display for you. Come for a walk through the Gardens and along the Herbaceous border. We hope you and your family enjoy them as much as we do each year.

Easter at Glenroe Farm

Egg races throughout the day starting with the first race at 10.30 a.m. and taking place at approximately 20-minute intervals throughout the day with the last race at 4.30 p.m. each evening. Each child aged 2 – 14 years old will get a ticket at the Admissions Desk on arrival which allows them to take part in an egg race while on the farm. There are two separate areas for egg races: (1) Children aged 6 and under at the Lower end of the playground and (2) Children 7 and over – beside the deer pen on the farm. 
Over the 3 days thousands of crème eggs or similar will be hidden and found! Each race has a special egg (duck egg) and the lucky person who finds the duck egg gets a special prize. Adult egg races throughout the day – a must to take part in or view from the sidelines! You’ll crack up at what goes on in these races! These races happen in the field beside the deer pen. Wear flat comfortable shoes for running if you want to take part.

Powerscourt

Come and meet all your favourite farmyard animals and enjoy the beautiful setting of Powerscourt Garden Pavilion over the Easter bank holiday weekend with a trip to Powerscourt.
The lovely people from Stonebrook Farm will be there with their cutest and furriest of animals this Easter Sunday and bank holiday Monday. There will be lambs, rabbits, chicks, guinea pigs, hamsters, tortoises and a little goat.
Children are allowed to pet the animals, bottle feed the pet lambs, hold baby chicks and ducklings etc. This is a free event and no booking is required.
