  1. Dundrum Summer Safari
https://www.dundrum.ie/safari
June - September 2018
It's time to break out the khaki and dust off those binoculars; Dundrum Town Centre is bringing a safari experience to Pembroke Square and helping real animals in the process. Dundrum Summer Safari, a fully immersive safari-themed experience, is taking over Dundrum Town Centre. Dundrum Summer Safari officially opened its doors on June 7th and is running right through to September, Dundrum Summer Safari features a range of safari-themed activities suitable for all the family. Dundrum Summer Safari also aims to raise awareness and funds for endangered animals. For every picture shared on social media using #DundrumSafari, Dundrum Town Centre will donate €1* to Save the Rhino International. Rhino numbers have dropped dramatically in recent years due to persistent poaching and habitat loss over many decades. Save the Rhino International is dedicated to protecting endangered rhinos in the wild across Africa and Asia. The focal point of Dundrum Summer Safari is a huge hot air balloon in Pembroke Square; around the balloon, would-be explorers can wander the trails of Dundrum’s Wildlife Reserve where life-size animals including a Lion, Giraffe, Elephant and more, wait to be discovered. Those seeking a safari-style animal encounter can jump into the Safari Jeep, pop on a VR headset, and find themselves instantly transported to the African savanna. Additional events and activities are planned each weekend, including face painting, arts and crafts, balloon artists and African dance and drumming classes. Dundrum Summer Safari also features a Sundowners Lodge, where grown-ups can kick back with a refreshment in hand and watch the sun go down after a busy afternoon exploring Dundrum Town Centre's retail outlets. Those looking for a fun-filled, exciting day should visit the free Dundrum Summer Safari which runs until September. Share a picture on social media using #DundrumSafari to donate €1* to Save the Rhino International.*Up to a total of €5,000 will be donated to Save the Rhino International.
