1916 Commemorative Cycle
This year to mark the Centenary of the 1916 Rising, South Dublin County Council, in partnership with Dublin City Council, is holding a very special Commemorative Cycle from the Pearse Museum in St. Enda’s Park, Rathfarnham to Eamon Ceannt Park in Crumlin. The cycle will mark the role that the bicycle played in the Rising as volunteers left what was Scoil Eanna on the morning of Easter Monday and made their way by bike into the city centre to participate in the rebellion. The cycle will take place on Sunday, June 19th at 11.30, preceded by a free tour of the museum and a talk by the museum curator.

2016 Irish Cargobike Championships
For the 4th year running the Irish Cargobike Championships are returning to the Phoenix Park as one of the last official Bikeweek events. This year promises to be even bigger and better with more events planned for young and old. On the day there will be some cargo bikes available for those who do not yet have their own cargo bike, and there will be other activities for every cyclist as Pedal in the Park is taking place at the same time as the Cargobike Championships

Open Farm Weekend 2016
"Bank of Ireland Open Farm Weekend takes place on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June with 23 farms opening their gates to the public for free to show their animals and land. Visitors will be able to see cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and turkeys at the various farms. There are also farms that grow apples, potatoes and oats, so there is a lot to see and do. Nine new farms will open their doors to the public, including star of UTV Rare Breed series, James Alexander. Previous hosts are kindly opening their gates once again and making a return will be Forthill Farm run by Kenny Gracey, whose animals have featured on the small screen including hit TV shows HBO’s Game of Thrones, BBC series Blandings and BAFTA winning short film Boogaloo."
