Malahide - Movies on the Lawn

Movies on the Lawn is back after much anticipation in Malahide Castle for one more brilliant day to round off the Summer. With two screenings taking place, Mamma Mia and Paddington, this event is perfect for all ages. Pack a picnic and bring your own snacks to enjoy these wonderful movies or pick up some tasty treats from the food vendors.

Garden Party 2019

The Séamus Ennis Arts Centre, Naul, Co Dublin hosts #GardenParty2019 - A summer festival of outdoor music & cinema events. Acts include The Riptide Movement, Horslips and many more. There will also be an outdoor screening of the movie Shrek and Road House. This is a family friendly event for everyone to enjoy.

2. Kerry

Rose of Tralee International Festival

Marking its 60th anniversary as one of Ireland’s most beloved and celebrated festivals, the Rose of Tralee returns for another year of celebrating Irish culture and heritage. The 5 day event which will take place over the weekend will include live music, fireworks displays, three Rose parades as well as the RTE televised Rose of Tralee show.  A memorable week, not to be missed!

Open Mic Night

Open Mic Night is back and welcomes all musicians to come in and showcase their talents in the Roisin Dubh. The main focus is to create a good atmosphere for people to come in and entertain an always encouraging audience.

4.  Limerick

Amazing Lace Exhibition

The Limerick Museum Friends of Lace presents The Amazing Lace Exhibition which features lace and lace patterns from the collection of the much beloved museum. The exhibition is in celebration of Limerick lace turning 190 this year. The place is known for its rich history with nearly 1900 people being employed as well as having some very famous customers including Queen Victoria, American First Lady Edith Roosevelt and Countess Markievicz. This event is suitable for people of all ages with wheelchair access available.
Admission: €5 Adult, €3.50 concession, children go free.
 
5. Waterford

The Greenway 2019 with Déise Medieval and The Vikings of Woodstown

Enjoy the living history this Saturday and Sunday at the craft village of where the Vikings used to live and where there will be traditional Viking crafts such as weaving, food display and cooking with a chance to try on a Viking helmet and lift a sword or axe. There will also be battles taking place throughout the days with an opportunity for kids to be their own Vikings and take part in their own battle. There is plenty of parking available and is guaranteed to be a fun family event for all.

Masters of Tradition

Masters of Tradition is a five-day festival with a full programme packed of all types of Traditional musicians. Kicking off in Bantry, West Cork it is set to be a wonderful festival for all to enjoy. With many free events over the course of the 5-days there are also ticketed events. Make sure you get down and enjoy it with friends and family and soak up traditional Irish music.

7. Donegal

Letterkenny Busking Festival

This Saturday the Main Street of Letterkenny will host the Annual Letterkenny Busking Festival. The event is free and open to all different types of musicians, singers and street entertainers with €1000 worth of cash prizes to be won. 8. Wicklow

Whale Watch Ireland 2019: Bray Head

The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group is holding their annual, free guided whale watching event as part of All-Ireland Whale Watch day. Although there is no guarantee of whales, there will be a good opportunity to see some of the marine species weather permitting. Make sure to dress appropriately as weather can be unpredictable. This 3 hour event will take place on the mainland’s so a good pair of binoculars will come in handy.

Kevin Lawlor Quartet

Head down to The Sky & The Ground at 6pm this Saturday evening to experience the live music of Jazz drummer and composer Kevin Lawlor. He will be playing music from his latest album 'Last Days of Summer' which has received rave reviews from critics. Kevin has previously performed in the IMC Signal Series and at the AberJazz Festival in Wales.

Florence and Milly Arts & Crafts Workshop

Make sure to head to the Florence and Milly Arts & Crafts this Saturday for a fun day or art and design. The event which starts at 10am will give you the opportunity to make a small framed silhouette of each other, discover the world of textiles and learn how to make your own artwork that you can touch and feel. There will be studio artist their to guide you throughout the process who will also do some samples to give you inspiration. This event is for people over the age of 3 with their own play area. There will also be a coffee bar for adults to relax and enjoy.

Slane Past and Present Heritage Tour

Enjoy a wonderful day of sightseeing with a Slane Past and Present Heritage Tour this Sunday. This free event will start at 11am at the Tourist Office where you will walk to the Hill of Slane and then back to the village for some nice food. Other sights to see that day will be Slane Castle and a visit to Slane Distillery. There will also be a talk with a local historian, weather permitting. To finish the day off you will get a horse and cart ride back to your car. Booking is needed in advance to guarantee a stop.

'Around the Turf Fire' - A Meeting of Young and Old

Enjoy an afternoon of storytelling for both young and old at the Killeshandra Community Hall this Sunday where you’ll learn about how people kept themselves entertained with dance, games and music back in the good ole days. There will be plenty of traditional refreshments including spud and soda cake which can be washed down with a nice cuppa tea. There will also be a special appearance from Barney Devine, of Arney community, Co. Fermanagh where he’ll speak about the traditional process of making handmade slap bricks from local clay, and how this relates to the brick ceilings of the Rath Church, Killeshandra. An educational afternoon for all!

For the final concert of this year’s annual Summer Afternoon Concert Programme there will be a dance performance by Zoe Conway and John McIntyre where they will be joined by former Riverdance dancer Yolanda Gonzales Sobrado. Yolando has toured the world with El Ballet de Antonio Gades which is one of Spain’s most prestigious dance companies so it’s an experience not to be missed! Concert will start at 4pm, so make sure you’re there on time!
