2. Cork
Cape Clear Island International Storytelling Festival

The Cape Clear Island International Storytelling Festival, now in its 25th year has become the most renowned festivals in the world storytelling calendar. With some of the most renowned storytellers from around the globe and set in a stunning location this festival is set to be a wonderful event.

3. Galway

The Regatta in Carraroe is on this year to round up the end of the summer months. Displaying many unique Irish boats, such as currachs and Galway Hookers, traditional boats used throughout Galway Bay along the coast of Connemara and North Clare. Spectate these amazing boats and watch races from the side-lines hopefully on a sunny afternoon.

5. Mayo
Sensory Day at the Pirate Adventure Park

A fun, calm and free event has been organised at the Pirate Adventure Park for families with children with sensory processing difficulties. Music will be turned down and queue times will be decreased allowing only those presenting with a family member with autism or a sensory processing disorder to use the facilities. Although this event is free you need to pre-register in order for the park to know how many people will be in attendance.

Wicklow Parkruns - Avondale & Russborough

Parkrun is a 5k run where it is you against the clock. It takes place every Saturday at 9.30am at Avondale Russborough House & Parklands, Blessington and Avondale House & Forest Park Avondale, Rathdrum. The run is free to join but you must register before your first run where you must present your barcode, otherwise you won’t get a time. Every week there will also be a post parkrun coffee in The Tea Rooms where everyone is welcomed

‘Sing to Me’ - Movie Launch

Head along to the Wexford Arts Centre for the launch of the movie ‘Sing to Me’. The film which stars Luke Spellacy Shaw and Jordan Feeley is about a young musician who hides his amazing talent while also being hopefully in love with the girl of his dreams.  Tickets are available at the Art Centre and on their website.

Come visit the Cavan County Museum on Sundays between 2pm and 5.30pm where you will be able to see many fascinating exhibits including the award-winning World War One replica trench, the 1916 Rising Experience, and Road to War: Path to Reflection with a gift shop and café. It is an ideal place to relax and wander through tens of thousands of years of Irish history. Guided tours are also available for groups.

What You Will; A Re-Imagining of Shakespeare’s 12th Night

Adapted from a Shakespeare comedy, Carlow Youth Theatre have created a modern retelling of Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night. Written by Ursula McGinn in collaboration with members of County Carlow Youth Theatre, the play will explore themes of sexuality, honesty and defying the status quo. A fun and enjoyable event not to be missed!

Land of Legends has been running from June 1st and is closing up on September 1st so head down and explore this immersive experience. Northern Ireland is home to many weird and wonderful mythical creatures throughout the centuries and is known as the land of giants. This multi-screen projection will have stunning photography, film, illustration and many more. Visitors will be taken on a whirlwind tour of Ireland’s most spectacular landscapes and uncover some thrilling tales along the way.

The Inishowen Peninsula has so much to offer all in close proximity of each other. This 8km coastal loop will take you two to three hours along bog roads, laneways and if you look closely when you make is to the coastline you can see the west of Scotland if the weather is good. This is the perfect way to spend a weekend with friends and family in the breath-taking outdoors of Donegal.

Take a tour around one of Ireland’s more scenic and visited  tourist destinations where visitors can take a tour of the famous house where Queen Victoria once stayed on her visit to Ireland. Other attractions include the Lakes of Killarney and a tour through Muckross’ Traditional Farm. A great day out just before the summer comes to a close.

17. Meath
Newgrange Farm

Visit the Newgrange farm, a family owned and run working farm/educational facility where visitors can get hands on experience of what it’s like to work on a farm.
