The 2016 edition of Longford's arts festival, Cruthú, takes place on the 28th to the 31st of July.     

Bilberry Walk up Brí Leith            
Creative Ardagh will be holding our annual Bilberry Walk up Brí Leith (now known locally as Ardagh Mountain) on Sunday 31st July at 11.00am (meeting at the GAA pitch outside Ardagh village and followed by tea and scones in Ardagh Heritage and Creativity Centre, Ardagh, Co. Longford. This is the fifth year of the walk which brings back the ancient tradition of gathering bilberries on Brí Leith for the High King's Lughnasa festivities in Tara.

Best Dress Lady & Gentleman at Nox      
The night starts off with a backyard BBQ and pig on a spit in the lovely terraced patio at Nox starting at 6. From 9pm, Galway’s favourite Cozy Cartel Folk Band will have you dancing and feeling good. Judges from Born Clothing and Roza Modelling Agency will be in to judge the Best Dressed Lady & Gentleman, and then DJ Marcus Seoige kicks off from midnight to late!

Feile Bigil - Inishbiggle Festival   
Inishbiggle Festival is an annual event for all the family which takes place on the August Bank Holiday weekend.  Events include a festival mass, fishing competition, guided walks focusing on the island's history and wildlife, a lecture on the local area - the people, past and the now, sports and novelty events with prizes for children and adult, a yawl race, a selfie competition and an island photo competition.

Mayo Manchester Tradfest    
The Mayo Manchester Tradfest, an annual 6 day festival of traditional Irish music, song and dance, is a unique collaboration between Mayo and Manchester. This family friendly festival supported by Failte Ireland, Ballina Town Council, and the Mayo Manchester Tourism Group takes place in and around Ballina.​

Garland Sunday       
To the locals of Keash Village, Keash Hill is the stage for the annual festival held on the last sunday in July, with sporting events, music, dance, bonny baby, sheaf throwing, a treasure hunt and maybe a climb up the hill. These Garland Sunday events are the modern continuation of the Lughnasa celebrations held here since antiquity.Garland Sunday - Bilberry Sunday as it is known in some areas - goes back to pagan times.The annual running of Keash Hill, King of the Hill is also held on Garland Sunday it is a 10 km road race around one of sligo's most iconic landmarks with breathtaking views.​

Sunday 31st July events include Kids Fancy Dress & Parade of Floats @ 2pm followed by family entertainment including train rides, bouncy castles, field games, market stalls, food tent and monster BBQ.  All accompanied with live music in the square all afternoon until approx 8pm
Bank Holiday Monday 1st August – kids tractor run @ 1pm followed by BBQ and DJ.

Castletownbere Festival of the Sea
The long running annual Festival of the Sea returns again with live music, gig racing, watersports, Fisherman of the Year fishing skills competition, craft markets, inflatable horse racing, bungee    

Skibbereen Arts Festival              
Art is everywhere in West Cork. In the scenery, in the people and in the atmosphere. No matter where you go you are likely to bump into a practitioner or lover of the arts. The Festival pays homage to this vital fabric of their community with a programme that is simply astonishing.

Cahersiveen Festival of Music & the Arts     
The Cahersiveen Festival of Music & the Arts is held each year in Cahersiveen town on the August Bank Holiday Weekend. The Bank holiday is always the first Monday of August and the festival takes place on the Friday, Saturday & Sunday before this day.

Antrim  Irish Linen Centre and Lisburn Museum Library 
The Irish Linen Centre showcases one of Ireland's best known industries. Take an audio visual tour and see the weaving centre and hand looms. This centre also showcases events and exhibitions which recreate and honour Lisburn's rich, local history. ​

All Ireland Road Bowls Finals     
Today road bowling is a popular competitive sport where it is played, but the most vigorous competitions are in two Irish Counties Armagh and Cork.  30th and 31st July this year sees the All Ireland Finals being held in Madden, around seven miles from Armagh City. This will feature Intermediate, Junior, underage and ladies winners from their respective Counties compete for All Ireland Honours.

The BeatleFest on the Lough     
The BeatlesFest on the Lough is Ireland’s only annual festival of Beatles music. It takes place in the picturesque towns of Moville & Greencastle in Donegal, 18 miles north of Derry along the shores of Lough Foyle. It is the 8th annual running of the event.
