Dublinia is proud to present Viking Fest 2018. A huge celebration of Viking Culture happening Easter weekend at Dublinia and Wood Quay from the 30th of March to the 2nd of April. 
This unmissable festival of Viking heritage will host live history demonstrations, Viking ships moored and on display in Wood Quay, and will culminate in a live outdoor spectacle with the international Follow the Viking’s audio visual and theatrical performance at the historic Wood Quay amphitheatre, celebrating the cultural and historic impact of the Vikings on Saturday 31st March. 
Dublinia hosts Viking Fest with support from Dublin City Council, Failte Ireland, Follow the Vikings and Creative Europe.

Jog For a Dog 5k returns in 2018 on Easter Monday April 2nd, the 4th year of this popular event run in the beautiful surroundings of Castletown House, Celbridge Co Kildare. Raising funds for the wonderful charity My Canine Companion Autism Service Dogs, this event has raised over €53k in the last three years! Thanks to great sponsorship from Irish Dog Foods, which covers all the race costs, ALL of your registration fees go to the charity. Easter Weekend at Glenroe Farm, Kilcoole
Three days of egg-ceptional and cracking fun on the farm on Easter Saturday 31st March, Easter Sunday 1st and Easter Monday 2nd April from 10.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.
Activities include:
Egg races throughout the day starting with the first race at 10.30 a.m. and taking place at approximately 20 minute intervals throughout the day with the last race at 4.30 p.m. each evening. Each child aged 2 – 14 years old will get a ticket at the Admissions Desk on arrival which allows them to take part in an egg race while on the farm. There are two separate areas for egg races: (1) Children aged 6 and under at the Lower end of the playground and (2) Children 7 and over – beside the deer pen on the farm.  
Over the 3 days thousands of crème eggs or similar will be hidden and found! Each race has a special egg (duck egg) and the lucky person who finds the duck egg gets a special prize.
Adult egg races throughout the day – a must to take part in or view from the sidelines! You’ll crack up at what goes on in these races! These races happen in the field beside the deer pen. Wear flat comfortable shoes for running if you want to take part.

Hanami Welcoming the Cherry Blossom Fairies
This year the Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens will celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival at Easter and welcome the Cherry Blossom Fairies to the Gardens, with music, fairy trails and fairy light workshops.
Patrick Lafcadio Hearn was a 19th century writer with Greek and Irish heritage who spent years in the United States and, most notably, in Japan. He collected and translated Japanese folk stories, fairy tales, poems and lyrics, and also wrote on his time spent learning about the culture of the Far East and Buddhism in books like Gleaning In Buddha-Fields and In Ghostly Japan.
Lafcadio Hearn Japanese Gardens are based in Tramore, County Waterford, which was Hearn’s familial home when he moved from Greece to Ireland. The gardens are styled after Hearn’s own biography, so central to them are the Japanese Gardens, however there is also an American Garden representing the time he spent in Louisiana, a Greek Garden representing his heritage, and a Victorian garden representing his youth in Tramore.
