Americans will now see a lot more of Conor McGregor on their TV screens

After his historic win in Las Vegas at the weekend, Conor McGregor has been announced as a coach on the new series of The Ultimate Fighter.

The television show sees the UFC offer contracts to the winners of a fight tournament. Season 22 of the The Ultimate Fighter will see fighters from Europe face fighters from America with a UFC contract at stake.

Dana White made the announcement last night at the final of the most recent season of the show.

McGregor will lock horns with Urijah Faber, who will coach the American side. Faber and McGregor were involved in a minor scuffle before Saturday's weigh in in Las Vegas for the Dubliner's UFC Interim Featherweight Title fight with Chad Mendes.

The series will begin on American television in the first week of September.
