How one Irish company is taking the stress out of online shopping

For the past 6 months, a Dublin company has been testing a courier service to pick-up and return online shopping purchases from homes and offices around the capital.

After over 14,000 returns, is bringing its service to all of the greater Dublin area - and it has announced plans to go national within the next six months.

Irish shoppers are choosing apps over high streets is a service from Deadline couriers, the company has recently announced plans to create an additional 80 jobs in their Dublin headquarters during the next two years.

Research shows that up to 40% of all online fashion purchases are returned as shoppers buy garments in multiple sizes.

If you don't like the look, cut, or colour of what you've bought, will pick it up and send it back to the company you bought it from.

Some of its largest retail partners will even cover the cost of the service (because making online shopping more convenient is in their interests too).

ASOS, Amazon, Boohoo, Missguided, and Topshop are among the retailers working with the Irish firm.

You can check if your favourite retailer offers the service for free on the company's website. If you do have to pay, average costs are between €5-€8 depending on the website and the size of the item.

"We live in a society where people don’t have time for additional mundane tasks. is designed for people who are too busy to take time out to queue at the post office or convenience store to make their returns ... It allows you to choose the most convenient time and location to have one of our couriers come and collect the item from you – often at the expense of the company you bought it from," Stephen McCann, CEO of Deadline commented.
