Number on the Live Register sees annual decrease of over 10%

There has been an annual drop of more than 10% of people signing on the Live Register.

The seasonally adjusted figure shows a decrease of 2,200 from October - reducing the total to 330,000.

That is an annual decrease of more than 36,000.

The number of male claimants fell by 26,572 to 188,154 in the year to November 2015, while female claimants decreased by 9,489 to 128,432.

The number of long-term claimants in November was 146,793.

The number of both men and women described as long-term claimants also fell in the year to November.

It comes after figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) released on Tuesday also showed a slight drop in the overall number of those unemployed.
