Nine Radio Stations Tune into Savings with Energia

Nine of Ireland’s leading independent radio stations are tuning in to large electricity costs savings with competitive electricity provider Energia in a new deal.

The move follows from an affinity deal that the Independent Broadcasters of Ireland (IBI) recently concluded with Energia .

The IBI members signing up are: Clare FM, Corks 96 & 103, Donegal Highland Radio, East Coast FM, KCLR FM, Limericks 95FM, LMFM, MidWest Radio and Q102. The value of the deal is in the region of €114,000, and will see Energia supply the nine stations with electricity.

Commenting on the deal, Lisa Ni Choisdealbha, IBI Development Director, commented: “Not only does the affinity deal with Energia offer IBI members significant cost savings, Energia also provide excellent customer service. In the current economic climate, all cost savings are extremely valuable. We look forward to more IBI members joining up, and to achieving further reductions with Energia over the coming years.”

Energia has a 25% market share of the business electricity market on an all–island basis with 40,000 customers.Energia power stations at Huntstown in Dublin have the capability to supply up to 17% of the electricity requirements on an all-island basis. The company also supplies 20% of all gas consumed in by the country’s largest industrial and commercial gas users.
