Purrfect savings for Petmania

September 09

Petmania, are set to benefit from winning savings on their electricity costs after switching to Ireland’s leading independent energy provider Energia.

The deal will see Energia providing over 9 megawatt hours of electricity to Petmania’s stores, guaranteeing round-the-clock temperature-controlled habitats to bearded dragons, albino pythons and tree frogs; while also pumping  and heating the 35,000 litres of water which houses Petmania’s coldwater, tropical and marine fish. The deal is worth in the region of €150,000 for Energia.

Commenting on the move, Shane Daly, Group Financial Controller, said: “Choosing to switch Petmania’s electricity supply to Energia was an easy decision.  We currently have 11 stores nationwide, and will be opening more in the near future, so the opportunity to make substantial savings on our energy costs will facilitate further investment in the service we offer to our customers”.

Mark Dignam, Key Account Manager, Energia commented: “We’re delighted that Petmania are joining our winning team for energy supplies. Like over 50,000 other Irish businesses, Petmania are deciding to switch their electricity supplier in order to access significant cost savings, and still benefit from first class customer service from one of the biggest suppliers of energy to the Irish business marketI.”

He continued, “Energia’s competitive energy offerings, gas, and green and conventional power, can make a real difference to businesses’ bottom line. Building on our 25% share of the business electricity market, Energia is now making major inroads in the gas and unmetered electricity markets.”

Energia has a 25% market share of the business electricity market on an all–island basis with over 50,000 customers. Energia’s power stations at Huntstown in Dublin have the capability to supply up to 17% of Ireland’s electricity requirements on an all-island basis. The company also supplies over 20% of all gas consumed in Ireland by the country’s business gas users.
