Welch Sports Scores with New Deal

January 21

Welch Sports are set to score when they switch to Ireland’s leading independent energy provider Energia in a new electricity deal.

The terms of the deal will provide Welch Sports with significant savings on the group’s electricity costs. Under the terms of the rolling one-year deal, Energia will supply 350 000 kWh each year to the Welch Sports’ stores in Cork City, Bandon, Douglas and Midleton.

Commenting on the deal, Neil Welch of Welch Sports said: “Switching to Energia for electricity means we get the benefits of cost savings of 10% while holding on to first-class customer service. At a time when every Irish business is carefully examining its costs, switching to Energia is an easy way to make a difference to our bottom line.”

Aidan Brennan, Key Account Manager, Energia commented: “Welch Sports are joining over 65,000 other Irish businesses who have switched to Energia in order to save on their electricity costs.”

He continued, “Energia’s competitive energy offerings, gas, and green and conventional electricity, can make a real difference to businesses’ bottom line. We are celebrating our 10th year operating in the Irish energy market and are building on our strength in the electricity market by making major inroads in the gas and unmetered electricity markets.”

Energia has a 25% market share of the business electricity market on an all–island basis with over 65,000 customers. Energia’s power stations at Huntstown in Dublin have the capability to supply up to 17% of Ireland’s electricity requirements on an all-island basis. The company also supplies over 30% of all gas consumed in Ireland by the country’s business gas users.
