As part of Global Wind Day 2016 on Tuesday 14th June, competitive energy provider Energia is inviting the public and local schools to visit its Corkermore wind farm in Co Donegal from 11am to 3pm.

Energia holding open day on Tues 14th June

 
10th June 2015 – As part of Global Wind Day 2016 on Tuesday 14th June, competitive energy provider Energia is inviting the public and local schools to visit its Corkermore wind farm in Co Donegal from 11am to 3pm.
 
The open day will offer members of the public and local schools the chance to learn about the turbines and renewable electricity from Energia staff, who will meet visitors and bring them on a tour of the wind farm. There will also be face and turbine painting, goody bags for children and information for parents and teachers. Children are very welcome. Energia Renewables is among Ireland's leading providers of sustainable green energy and 25% of Ireland’s wind power is provided through Energia to homes and businesses. Energia has invested over €300m in wind farms since 2008 and currently supplies over 795MWs of renewable energy. This will rise to over 1,000MWs by mid-2017 with over 200MWs of projects presently in development.
 
Access to the wind farm from Donegal Town is via the N56. After travelling 8kms, at Inver village, take a right turn. Follow the road for another 23kms. Direction signage will be in evidence nearer the site.
