Winters Property Management DAC, one of Ireland’s largest property service providers, has signed a major new 1.5GWhs (gigawatt hours) electricity deal with competitive energy supplier Energia.

Tuesday 28th June 2016 – Winters Property Management DAC, one of Ireland’s largest property service providers, has signed a major new 1.5GWhs (gigawatt hours) electricity deal with competitive energy supplier Energia.
 
The new energy deal will see Energia provide power to sites and estates containing almost 10,000 residential and commercial units across the West of Ireland. This will see the management companies avail of the most competitive market rates from Energia for their common area electricity.
 
Winters Property employ 44 staff in five offices, it manages over 7,500 commercial and residential units under its estate and facilities management arm and its letting arm has an additional 600 properties leased and managed. Winters are also the largest private Student Accommodation operators in the country with almost 3,000 beds in six sites in Galway and Athlone. Its consultancy arm has also provided operational and planning advice to an additional 3,000 beds in Cork, Tralee, Limerick, Letterkenny and Dublin.

“We also support businesses through innovative energy programmes like Energia’s ‘Cash for Kilowatts’ scheme
that provides grant funding to companies for energy efficiency projects. It means that any company carrying out an energy efficiency project can qualify for grant funding based on the amount of energy they save. The grant can fund up to 30% of the project cost. This scheme is open to all businesses, whether or not they are customers of Energia. 
 
As well as benefitting from the generous grants, businesses will also make very significant ongoing savings through the energy efficiency projects. For example:
 
  • Lighting: LED and high efficiency lighting can typically reduce your lighting costs by up to 75%
  • Heating: a new boiler or heating controls can save over 25% of your annual fuel costs
  • Refrigeration: new systems can reduce your costs by up to 30%
 
Energia has a 26% market share of the Irish business electricity and gas market supplying the energy needs of over 60,000 business customers. In addition to renewable assets, the company also operates a 750MW gas fired power station in north Dublin.
