Energia Customers Power Kindness this Christmas!
Inner City Helping Homeless held their annual Fill A Luas event this year on 6th December at Dublin's Connolly Station and the turn out on the day was just fantastic! ICHH have reported to have already collected over twenty two thousand Christmas shoeboxes full of essentials for the homeless sleeping rough, living in emergency accommodation and shelters across Dublin. And the donations are still coming in! This amazing initiative by the ICHH just shows what communities and kindness can achieve when we all come together and make that little bit of extra effort for those less fortunate.
This year Energia wanted to raise awareness of ICHH and so we asked customers to get involved. As an Irish Energy provider, we play a vital role in our country and communities. We power all of Ireland's streetlights and we power over 1,000 Irish schools, not to mention thousands of family homes.
It's also our responsibility to do what we can to help raise awareness for our charity partner ICHH, so we kindly asked customers to get involved by sending us a photo of their finished shoeboxes. For every photo submission we received, Energia will be donating €5. We will be donating at least €600 on behalf of our customers and you can still send us photos of your shoebox contributions here.
We are delighted to say to date we have received over 120 photo submissions from so many kind customers.* We also picked one customer at random from all photo submissions to win a Winter Warmer Hamper full of goodies for the cold festive season. Congrats to Esker Educate Together National School, Lucan, Co. Dublin on winning the festive hamper of goodies and thank you for your photo donations!
Below you will see just a selection of the lovely photos donated from our customers.
In addition to our photo request, the Energia employees have also raised over €3,000 with an Internal Christmas Raffle together with donations from suppliers and partners.
