As announced in Budget 2024, domestic electricity customers will receive €450 electricity credit (inclusive of VAT) in 3 instalments of €150 (€137.61 + VAT) between December 2023 and March 2024.

How do I qualify?

You need to be fully registered to an electricity supplier in the Republic of Ireland on the ‘effective dates’ for this credit. The effective dates are:

20 Dec 2023
28 Feb 2024

How do I sign up?

There is no need to sign up, the payments are automatically credited and will show when applied on bills.

Do I need to call Energia to get this credit?

No, there is no need to call us, the credits will be automatically applied in December 2023, January 2024 and March 2024 provided you are registered on the effective dates stated above. You will see the credits on your bill after they are applied.
The exact date you receive the payment will depend on when you are billed, Energia will credit the 3 payments as below:
1st payment between 1 December 2023 and 31 December 2023
2nd payment between 1 January 2024 and 29 February 2024
3rd payment between 1 March 2024 and 30 April 2024
However, the credit may not appear on your bill until the following month during these payment periods depending on your individual billing cycle.



I am signed up to Level Pay, how will this impact my monthly payments?

Your monthly payments will continue as normal. We review Level Pay accounts to ensure the monthly payment is correct and will contact you to advise if we are adjusting your monthly payment amount.

What if my account is in credit?

If your account is in credit, the balance will move forward for future bills, if you are on level pay this will be factored into your review.

I have a PrePayment Meter; will I get the credit?

Yes, Energia Prepayment customers will receive the credit, we will contact you each time the credit is available to receive on your top-up code.
