It’s hard to believe Halloween is already here. I know it may not be the Halloween we had planned or hoped for, but all is not lost! Here at Energia we want to make sure you can still make the most of the Halloween weekend from the comfort and safety of your own home. There are still plenty of way you can celebrate at home, so check out some of our fun ideas below!

Carve a Pumpkin 🎃

I know this may be obvious, but who doesn’t love carving a pumpkin! The tradition of carving jack-o'-lanterns actually originated in Ireland way back when. And the best part is you can carve anything you’d like, whether its Jack Skellington from the Nightmare before Christmas or a spooky ghost. Plus, you can make delicious festive pumpkin soup with the pumpkin guts that are leftover!

Watch a Classic Halloween Movie 🎥

What better way to get into the festive Halloween spirit than watching some classic Halloween movies.  I don’t know about you, but this is one of my favourite things to do at Halloween! Check out our top ten list of classic films for all the family to watch:

  • Hocus Pocus (1993)

  • Casper (1995)

  • Halloweentown (1998)

  • The Addams Family (1991)

  • The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

  • The Corpse Bride (2005)

  • Monster House (2006)

  • Ghostbusters (1984)

  • Beetlejuice (1988)

  • The Witches (1990)

Go ‘Ghosting’ 👻

If you still want the element of surprise sweets to eat maybe Ghosting is the thing for you.  Ghosting is when you create a treat bag of goodies for your family/friend/neighbour and leave it on their doorstep as a surprise! It’s such an easy thing to do and a great way to spread some socially distanced Halloween cheer this festive season.

Spooky Halloween Baking 🍰

Baking is fun all year round but there are some great Halloween recipes to try out if you’re feeling hungry and want to treat yourself! Whether it’s some eyeball cake pops, ghoulish biscuits or Halloween cupcakes, you’ll find some great recipes to keep the family entertained here.

Dress Up 👗

Who says just because you’re at home you can’t dress up this year! We’ve all been in that situation where you’ve been invited to a fancy party last minute and you have to throw together a DIY costumer at home. So, dress up for whatever Halloween activity you’re doing and make the most of the festive weekend.

Make Some Homemade Slime 🎨

Making homemade slime is a fun and easy thing to do at home this Halloween, that also involves a bit of science! It’s a great activity to keep the kids, and the adults, entertained! You can choose any colour concoction you want and you can find an easy recipe here.
