1. DUBLIN

TITLE: Open House 2021 @ The Mansion House

The Lord Mayor of Dublin invites you to visit their official residence. Walk through the public rooms of this impressive building, built by Joshua Dawson and the heart of civic life for over 300 years. This December will be the 100th anniversary of the cabinet debate on the Anglo-Irish Treaty which took place in the Drawing Room on 8th December 1921. Visitors will see the Oak Room, the Drawing Room, the Dining Room and the Lady Mayoresses Parlour.

For Open House 2021 we will be running a limited amount of 15 minute self guided walk through tours of the Mansion House from 11:00am - 5:00pm on Saturday 16th October (last entry 4:45pm). Staff will be on hand to assist throughout the day if you have questions.

 

2. LAOIS

TITLE: Pumpkin Patch

At Mollies Family Farm we have all you need for a fun Autumn day out. Come and pick your own pumpkin straight from the field, design and carve it to keep the ghosts away this Halloween.
Our pumpkin patch is open on the 16th and 17th of October and from the 23rd to 31st of October from 10am to 4pm each day.

Entry is free and pumpkins are priced from €5 to €15 depending on size.
There will be refreshments available: tea, coffee and sweet treats.
Please book a ticket for each member of your group, example if you are a group of 2 adults and 2 children then book 4 tickets.

This is an outdoor event and can get muddy so bring wellies.

OutWest invites parents and young children to a morning of storytelling at Claremorris Town Hall Theatre. Stories will include topics such as gender identity and the morning promises to be lots of fun. Children & Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions also, as part of the event.

Look high up in the trees, nowhere is safe. We do not recommend you visit here alone, but we dare you to visit this Halloween!

A quarter of a century ago, Baboró was founded to fly the flag for brilliant child-focused arts experiences.

At the heart of its foundation is a vision of access to the arts for all children, inspired by the UN Convention on the Rights of The Child.

For their 25th festival, Baboró will be celebrating the rights of the child with a strand of events and performances dedicated to giving children a platform for their voice to be heard, a space for expression and, of course, a festival experience to be enjoyed with family and friends.
This year a wondrous programme of theatre, dance, puppetry, music, art and literature, both in person and online, delights and inspires audiences. Artists from near and far bring their diverse stories to open the hearts and ignite the imaginations of audiences young and old.

OFFline Film Festival is an exciting event for film lovers and makers alike. Irish and international films are screened in an array of quirky venues around the town to enthusiastic audiences.
Every year we accept short films from all over the world to be entered into our short film competition. Prizes include Best Irish Short which wins a guaranteed distribution deal to over 80 official film clubs across Ireland; Best International Short and the Audience Award.
The festival also includes workshops on aspects of film-making given by industry professionals.
 

11. MAYO

Music lovers from far and near will enjoy a feast of traditional music, song and dance this October as ‘Foxford Traditional Weekend’ gets underway from the 14th – 17th October.  The town which is a haven for many musicians will host the annual event and there is a fantastic weekend of music in store.
Events will commence with a Rambling House on Thursday 14th October in Guiry’s Bar with some special characters.  This is always a very enjoyable night of song and stories, music and fun and the perfect start to a jam-packed musical weekend.

A session trail of music around the town will commence on Friday evening and will continue at different times, for the whole weekend, in all public houses.  The session trail will include some of Ireland’s finest musicians from all parts of the country and this ‘high energy’ trail is sure to lift your heart and get your feet tapping.  All musicians are invited to join in the session trail or initiate their own session in one of the many nooks and crannies. 
 

12. DERRY

TITLE: Portrush Point-to-Point Races

 Portrush point-to-point is the perfect day out for all the family in the Irish countryside and where you will get to witness the future stars of the racing industry make their introduction into competitive racing.

Unlike most racecourses, spectators can stand beside one of the fences and feel the power of the horses as they jump a fence in full flight or get close to the winning post for a bird eye view of the thrilling action.

The track is also the perfect location for a picnic from the boot of your car where you can enjoy the action whilst entertaining friends and family!

Our outside food caterers are located beside the parade ring and bookies which means you don't have to venture too far from the action to purchase some snacks. You can choose from an array of hot food options such as burgers and chips to sausages and chicken goujons.

I AM BABA is a theatre adventure for babies created by internationally renowned theatre director Anna Newell and award-winning composer David Goodall whose shows for early years have been seen on five continents. I AM BABA is a magical adventure of song, lights and textures for babies aged strictly 0-12 months. It’s a show about identity, agency and personhood. For babies. Due to space restrictions, only one adult can accompany each baby.
This national tour was funded by the Arts Council.
Duration: 20 mins with up to 20 mins of free play afterwards.
 
 

14. ANTRIM

Simple Cypher’s first production Roll Up, Roll Up combines the pair’s passion for circus and hip hop culture through a mash-up of Cyr wheel and juggling with musicality, originality and innovative play.

Switching up freestyle and highly technical choreographies this performance showcases a mischievous shorthand and unique style formed through friendship, commitment and a shared vision.
Simple Cypher fuse circus and hip hop to create new, uplifting experiences. Style, originality and unity are key fundamentals of Hip Hop culture and have a profound influence on the work the company creates.

This show is part of our family friendly outdoor double bill alongside Company Zid’s Routine also taking place at CS Lewis Square on Sat 16 & Sun 17 October at 2.30pm & 4.30pm.
 

15. CAVAN

TITLE: Mullagh Hill walk

This is a steep 2km walk but worth it when you get to the top. On a good day, enjoy uninterrupted 360-degree views of the Cavan and neighbouring Meath countryside as well as Mullagh Lake. At the summit you will find a handy picnic table where you can sit and enjoy the views.
 

16. TIPPERARY

TITLE: Devil’s Bit Walk

This moderate 5km trail in County Tipperary showcases views of the Galtee Mountains and even more lush landscapes across counties Laois and Galway.
A satisfying hill walk on Devil’s Bit Mountain, this pleasant loop takes 90 minutes to complete.
 

17. ANTRIM

TITLE: Cinemagic International Film & Television Festival for Young People

This flagship festival takes place in venues across the city every October. There's an action packed screening and events programme for 4-25 year olds, showcasing the best of world cinema, presenting talent lab and creativity corner masterclasses with creative industry professionals, fun-filled film events, and the annual 'CineSeekers' and 'CineFocus' film juries which offer participants a chance to become movie reviewers and choose the winning films of the festival.
