The May Fair is our most colourful festival yet! A celebration of family, house, home, garden, fashion and of course great food.
 
We will have cooking demonstrations throughout the weekend included in your entry price with Rory O'Connell, Darina Allen and Paul Flynn along with many other fantastic chefs sharing their knowledge with you in a fun and interactive way. Join Andy from Cask for a cocktail making demo or Colm and Seamus for a pop up wine tasting.
 
Join one of the walled garden fitness classes and stretch in the sun with yoga or pilates or build some strength with Zoe and Sabrina.
 
Drop your kids into Kathy for an hour of interactive fun while you wander the unique stalls on display. Children’s Lego and craft workshops will be running throughout the weekend.

This event represents a leisurely guided ‘Off the Beaten Track’ heritage cycle tour along a 40km looped trail that passes on route seven castles on the north and eastern side of Galway city and into Galway county. The tour will start from The Plots (sports field) at the Woodquay entrance to the Dyke Road along a route that will pass castles at Terryland, Menlo, Cloonacauneen, Killeen, Ballybrit, Castlegar and Ballindooley.
 
The group cycle will journey over hills, along botharins, past abandoned farms, ancient castles, karst outcrops, bogs, lakes, dykes, turloughs and meadows.

Buskfest is a famous busking competition now in its 19th year which takes place in Banbridge town centre on Saturday 21 May from 1-4pm.

To celebrate Bike Week and Biodiversity Week, we are very excited to host this guided cycle of the Phoenix Park.
 
Meeting outside Phoenix Park Cycles, we will set off on a gentle cycle through the park, taking in some of the sights and sounds. The cycle will be about 4km each way, on segregated cycle lanes, over flat terrain, so suitable for all cycling abilities.
 
We will be given a guided talk of the park's biodiversity from the OPW within the walled garden, at the park visitor centre.

Every May, the sweet and wild song of the dawn chorus reaches its height, as birds proclaim their presence to welcome the new day. Join us for this unique early morning event at the National Botanic Gardens for Biodiversity Week and witness the sound of the dawn in this haven of the city.
 
Note: Wrap up warm as the early morning can be chilly, and sunshine is not guaranteed! Families are most welcome, though we do ask that everyone can stay quiet for the birds on the day. And although this is all about the sound, bring binoculars if you have them, to better spot the birds!
