Demonstration of traditional forging wrought and cast iron.
Demonstration of the traditional skill of forging wrought and cast iron to create the gates, railings and rainwater goods evident in towns and villages and in the country side. Master blacksmith Stephen Quinn will explain the skilful techniques and material he uses in this ancient art. The venue is at the restored forge to the north of the village of Claregalway.

The breeding season for wild deer known as the “rut” is one of the highlights of the wildlife calendar.
This event is kindly hosted by the National Parks and Wildlife Service and is free of charge. The walk takes place at the peak of the red deer rut on Sunday October 9th.
The event is family friendly event and suitable for all fitness levels, with no specialist clothing required. There will be talks by a Conservation Rangers and the Irish Deer Commission, along with a display of native red deer antlers.

We're back for the final in the Nadia's Trails series and this one is an absolute wowser offering incredible views across a 9km trek.
The meeting point for this hike is the Maxol Service Station, Dublin Rd, Dundalk, Co Louth A91HDK0 at 10.00am.
Here, you'll receive your mandatory safety briefing and meet your host Nadia El Ferdaoussi and your hike guide, Wayne Jenkins. Each participant will receive a Maxol goodie bag at this point.
From Maxol, you will make the short drive to the start of the hike at the Carlingford Tourism Visitors Centre. Your hike guide will provide you with directions on the day!
Time: Meet at 10.00am at Maxol Dublin Road, Dundalk. The hike will commence circa 10.30am.
