- Family Fun Weekend

We are delighted to announce the inaugural FREE Family Fun Weekend, running Saturday and Sunday, 10th & 11th September on the Plaza, in Beacon South Quarter, Sandyford.
It will have a carnival atmosphere with a wide range of activities planned to include a children’s movement class, clowns, face-painting, balloon making, arts & crafts and a family friendly disco, and of course carnival games.

The 9th Féile Cheoil Larry Reynolds takes place in Ballinasloe during the weekend of Friday 09 to Sunday 11 September 2022. Féile Cheoil Larry Reynolds was established to commemorate the life of the late Larry Reynolds.
There will be music, heritage events and craic, the Opening Concert will star Danny O'Mahony. Opening night session in many venues from 21:00 onwards with a host of high-quality musicians.
- Greencastle Tour

Book for a guided tour of this amazing castle. The tour lasts approx 1.5hrs and it is advisable to wear strong footwear. A Royal castle built in the mid-13th century by Hugh de Lacy to control the southern approach into Ulster. Greencastle was a key fortification for over 400 years and was repeatedly besieged, relieved and repaired before falling into ruins after bombardment by Cromwell's troops in 1652. - Milford Village EHOD 2022

Milford Village is a model village built around the famous linen manufacturing firm McCrum, Watson & Mercer. The creation of Robert G. McCrum (1829-1915). The Milford National School house held the record for the best national school in Ireland- for every month you attended he put 5 shillings in your account! The R.G McCrum Institute has a ballroom larger than Armagh City Hall and Glen Miller performed there. Take a self guided walk around this beautiful village.
- Grand Opera House Tour

Hear about the world-famous stars who have performed here from Laurence Oliver to Darcey Bussell and learn the secrets of the auditorium’s beautiful Oriental design as well as the near disasters that this stunning building has faced. - Curragh Chase
A delightful 3.6km loop through picturesque Curragh Chase Forest Park, expect mature woodland, lakeside views and cliff walls in this green corner of County Limerick.
Traversing Curragh Chase Forest Park’s mature broadleaf and conifer woodlands and skirting stunning Glenisca Lough, this one-hour loop circles anti-clockwise.
- Gougane Barra Forest Park

An area of wild and beautiful scenery, this magnificent Forest Park covers over 137 splendid hectares (339 acres). It is tucked in a lush valley at the edge of the Sheehy mountains, the ideal place to hike, get in touch with nature, picnic and inhale the fresh air. Think Canadian Rockies with its sharp crags, high pine forests and panoramic views sweeping down the lake. It is in these hills where the majestic River Lee rises, flowing to Cork Harbour approximately 89km away. Steeped in history, there is a tiny island at the edge of the lake at the entrance to the Forest Park where St. Finbarr, patron saint of Cork, founded his early Christian monastery in the 6th century. A place for all seasons, visit the park in spring when the new growth mellows the stark winter landscape, or in Summer when the sounds of birdsong on the high trails ring out in the hills.

Mullaghmeen in north Westmeath is the largest planted beech forest in Ireland. This 1,000 acre forest has an extensive network of way marked trails for varying levels of fitness.
This 1,000 acre forest offers picnickers a shady haven in which to feast and provides the more energetic with scenic walks of varying length. The Red Trail takes you to the summit of Mullaghmeen and provides magnificent views north across Lough Sheelin and into the neighbouring county of Cavan.

Mountaineering Ireland are delighted to announce their Happy Hiking Programme. This is a great opportunity for anyone new to the hills or those who want to learn navigation to join a qualified instructor for a full days training and gain useful information and skills that will help keep you safe on the hills.
There will be up to 40 skills days in 17 locations to choose from. Full details are available when registering.
For this hill skills day we will start at Turlough Hill Car Park and head towards Lough Firrib. Throughout the day you will learn about movement skills, basic navigation, map reading, equipment and safety considerations.
