An Aladdin’s Cave of Cultural Delights, we celebrate & showcase the diverse arts being produced in our multicultural city. Dublinternational is proudly sponsored by Dublin City Council, The Arts Council and The Ireland Funds, it’s a completely free event that provides the audience with an opportunity to ‘Travel the World in 80 Steps'. Our festival is centered around audience interaction and participation and is designed to provide cultural activities of interest for all ages. Fringe Festival veterans and one of Ireland's most beloved comedy troupes Foil, Arms and Hog are bring their brand-new show Craicling to the O'Reilly Theatre in Belvedere College as a part of the 2018 edition of the Fringe. The trio have performed at the Fringe every year since 2012 so they are firm festival favourites who have gone on to become household names, with their sketches and skits drawing over 100,000,000 hits on YouTube – and Craicling is promised to be their best show yet.

Brannockstown Harvest Festival

Come along on Saturday 15th September to Brannockstown's harvest festival - celebrating local produce and local relationships. The festival will run 2 - 5pm in the Baptist church grounds and is open to all. Activities include: Best in Show competition – an opportunity to celebrate locally produced goods - 3 Euro entry fee. Entries welcome in the following categories home-made jams/preserves, home-grown fruit & veg, floral display, craft, baked goods, kid’s craft (under 12s), kid’s baking (under 12s). Just bring your entry along between 2:00 and 2:30pm on the day. Judging will take place 3 - 4pm. All entries must be grown or produced by the entrant. Entries welcome from Brannockstown and beyond. Village café – an opportunity to chat and relax with a drink, slice of cake and music. Village games – an opportunity to test your skills, wheelbarrow race, tug of war, three-legged race, wet-sponge, tin-can alley, beat the goalie, kids’ corner – let their creative juices run free, junk crafting, face painting. Dalton House Day Care Centre Sponsored Walk

Dalton House Day Care Centre will be holding their 3rd Annual Sponsored Walk on Saturday, 15th September 2018 in Gowran. Sponsorship cards are available in Dalton House and all sponsored walkers go free! If you would prefer you can pay on the day. Registration will commence at 2:30pm in Gowran Parish Hall. Prominent businesses from the area will be showcasing their products and services in one room, showing off their skills and promoting great offers. A raffle will take place on the day in aid of Temple Street Hospital. Visitors can enjoy an itinerary of workshops on the day which will take place on the main stage. Shows include a hair display by Tina from ‘Love my Hair’, a beauty treatment introduction from ‘Ewelina Beauty Treatments’, a make-up show from ‘Essence of Beauty’ and a social media workshop on ‘how to promote your business’ by Benjamin from ‘Showcase Me’. Family Fun Day BKD 2018

This year’s annual Family Fun Day will take place on the 15th September on the green. We are hoping to have a huge gathering again, like we had last year. List of events through the day include: BBQ - Burgers, sausages and soft drinks, bouncy castle - obstacle course, bouncy castle - celebrations (under 6-year-old), Tug-o-War competition - adult and child competitions, sack race, giant connect 4, giant (kids) twister, egg 'n spoon race, very loud funky music. Also, a Bric a Brac Sale - bring along stuff you want to sell for the fund-raising event. (PS - no clothes, no furniture, no electrical items, no heavy or bulky Items). A suggestion would be books, CDs, kids toys etc. (Remember anything not sold, we have to store until we can re-distribute). Looking forward to seeing you all there. Ballinakill Downs Residents Committee, will be hosting this event, therefore, we are respectfully looking for volunteers on the day to give us a hand to manage and coordinate the various activities. SAFETY: 1) Children under 12 must be accompanied by an Adult at all times, throughout the day. Echo Echo Festival Workshop Tour

Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company is interested in finding ways to develop engagement with artists in dance, movement and related disciplines, from all parts of Ireland. With this in mind we are offering a series of workshops outside our home base in Derry. Experienced dancers and artists in other fields, along with experienced non-professionals, are invited to join a free workshop with Ayesha Mailey, Associate Artistic Director of Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company. There will be a practical movement session and a short presentation on the work of Echo Echo and the concept of Poetic Movement. The workshop will include an outline of ways to engage with and collaborate with Echo Echo including an introduction to their Artist-in-Residence programme, an explanation of opportunities for proposing work for the annual Echo Echo Festival, and an outline of other possibilities for developing collaboration, performances, research and workshops at Echo Echo Studios in Derry. Monies raised help keep the cost of therapy low for parents. The fundraiser is an Irish Dance pop up shop. Display your used and outgrown dance dresses, waistcoats, shoes and accessories. The host will also list dresses on a Worldwide audience Facebook selling group dedicated to Irish dance with over 6000 members. Cost to display items with no commission taken: Dresses €10, Waistcoats €5, Wigs, shoes and accessories €3. The premises will facilitate a changing room and mirrors. The date of this event coincides with the Yeats County Championships in Sligo ITs Knocknarea arena, so there will be guaranteed interest and guests to view and try.

Finnebrogue Artisan Hans Sloane Chocolate & Fine Food Festival

Thousands of chocoholics and enthusiastic foodies from Northern Ireland and beyond are set to descend again this year on Killyleagh town centre to celebrate the 2018 Finnebrogue Artisan Hans Sloane Chocolate & Fine Food Festival, Sponsored by artisan producer Finnebrogue, based in nearby Downpatrick and famous for their outstanding quality venison and sausages, among other favourites, this year’s festival will be the largest one yet, with over 15 chocolatiers and nearly 40 local artisan food producers scheduled to set up camp for the weekend-long festival. Founded in 2010 to celebrate Killyleagh’s most famous son, Hans Sloane, the creator of milk chocolate, the biennial festival has grown in strength and popularity and is now regarded as one of the principal events of its type across the UK and Ireland. The festival will kick off on Friday 14th September with the Chocolate Ball, held within the exquisite grounds of Killyleagh Castle. Guests can expect a mouth-watering chocolate inspired menu prepared and designed by Chef Simon Dougan of Yellow Door, followed by world class entertainment.
