The Dalkey Lobster Festival 2017
The Dalkey Lobster Festival 2017 runs from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th August. This year it will be bigger and better than ever, featuring Ireland's most exclusive crustacean in the premier Heritage Town of Dalkey.
The Dalkey Lobster Festival 2017 kicks off on the evening of Thursday 24th with an incredible world premier concert in Dalkey Parish Church, Castle Street.

There will be lots of exciting activity with Castle Street closed to traffic on Saturday and Sunday from 12 noon to 6 p.m. each day. There will be twenty marquees lining the street with food and produce, live street entertainment and fun for all the family with a Kids Zone.
There will be lobster, prawns, crab claws, mussels and all kinds of exceptional seafood available with displays and demonstrations by surprise guests guaranteed to wow your palate! The festival provides a family friendly environment for all.
We are delighted that our official beneficial charity this year is The Children's Medical Research Centre at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Crumlin. Please support their volunteers who will be on hand during the festival.

Creative Quarter Summer Festival
In celebration of the Creative Quarter District, DublinTown and local businesses have come together to showcase the great services provided by the businesses through a FREE festival.
What better way to show off the Creative District by showing off it's very creative people! Running over two days, August 26th (1pm - 8pm) and August 27th (12pm - 6pm), the Creative Quarter festival has a jam packed line up of events with on-street cooking demonstrations, fashion shows, comedy, an out-door movie and exhibition stands from local businesses. Supported by Dublin City Council.
The event will take place over locations around the Creative Quarter area including Fade Street and parking bays on Drury Street and South William St.
Laugh in the Creative Quarter with a special lunchtime comedy show atThe International Bar, Dublin - Ireland a Survivors Guide.

Enniscorthy Folk & Ballad festival
The Enniscorthy Folk & Ballad festival next weekend with live ballad bands from all over Ireland playing the best rebel tunes this is a weekend full of craic not to be missed.
All gigs are free before midnight and there is just a €10 charge after midnight payable on the door (but that includes entry into the nightclub).
There are daytime gigs that kids could go to once they are out of the venue by 9pm.
Starting at 8pm Friday and 4pm Saturday & Sunday we really do have some of the best Irish Folk & Rebel bands and it will be a weekend to remember.

Milford Hospice Harvest Fair
It is with great pride that on the year of the hospices 40th anniversary and our 32nd Harvest Fair we make it bigger and better than before. So on the 27th August 2017 we are holding our 32nd Annual Harvest Fair on the grounds of University of Limerick Sports Arena with a theme of family fun. The fun starts at 11.00am. This year we will have ice-cream, music everywhere, kids entertainment, raffles, a specially designed kids zone with activities planned for the younger ones including a brand new puppet show, and lots of other fun activities for the young at heart. We also have a BBQ, cakes stall, pancakes, pig on a spit, popcorn, cool drinks, the wheel of fortune, many stalls selling lots of goodies, and lots lots more. We really hope you can come and join us this year with your friends and family to make it the biggest Harvest Fair yet, help us continue to provide the highest level of care to our patients and their families for another 40 years and more.

54th Annual Oughterard Agricultural Show
The Oughterard Show is one of the leading agricultural and horticultural shows in the West of Ireland. It gives both locals and visitors to see the best of Connemara with performance ponies, livestock, pets, dogs, farm and garden produce and vintage displays as well as a large variety of art and craft exhibits along with fun provided for children on both days.

The Old Waterworks Experience
A family fun Water Heritage Open Day on Sunday 27th August from 11am to 4pm. Admission is free and children and adults can enjoy a series of stands and activities themed on the various aspects of water.Throughout the day visitors are encouraged to become detectives while investigating interactive exhibits, discover the engineering trail around the old Victorian waterworks, participate in hands on experiments at the learning zone and experience industrial heritage up close. Fun activities are planned for ages including creating giant bubbles, launching water rockets, hook a duck, face painting and lots more. Old Cork Waterworks Experience manager Mervyn Horgan said “Our open day was previously voted Best Interactive Event by the Heritage Council and this year we are aiming for an even bigger event” adding “We have had a great response from the public so far and expect a larger attendance this year, we have more volunteers and lots of extra family friendly fun planned with entry and all activities free on the day”The Old Cork Waterworks is located on the Lee Road. Newtonabbey Shoreline Festival 26-27 August

Come along and enjoy family fun and music performances over the bank holiday weekend. Usual favourites such as amusements, band concerts, live music, inflatables, outdoor activities, sensory play, street theatre shows and circus skills will be available on both days.
Saturday evening’s entertainment is a must-see for all George Michael fans as tribute band ‘Faith the George Michael Experience’ will get everyone bopping to the popstar’s hits, finishing with a fireworks display. On Sunday, tribute band ‘Roll With It’ will take to the stage to rock the Loughshore to the sounds of Oasis classics. (Please note that glass bottles are not permitted at any of the concerts.)

City of Derry Guitar Festival
The 15th City of Derry Guitar Festival is proud to offer an all-female classical guitar line-up and, for the first time, a middle eastern flavour with a special workshop on the Arabic Oud.
Wiktoria Szubelak, Isabel Martinez and Dominika Bialostocka will bring their very distinctive playing styles to Derry-Londonderry for a weekend of classical guitar workshops, masterclasses and ensemble. The amazing Amir-John Haddad makes a welcome return with his popular Flamenco Guitar workshop and a unique talk on the Arabic Oud, during which he will will demonstrate how to play the instrument and outline the influences it had on modern guitar music.
By popular demand our Ukulele Course with Ronan Kearney will also be back with tuition all day Saturday and Sunday. And for the rockers out there Ted Lynch will be holding an Electric Guitar Course completely dedicated to the legendary band Black Sabbath, who recently completed their The End tour.
Summer Music Sessions at Castle Coole

The Charlie Chaplin Comedy Film Festival
A four-day event packed with workshops, circus performances, street entertainers, art exhibitions, amusement rides, film competition screenings and pop-up improvised comedy.
In the 1960’s, Charlie Chaplin and his wife Oona arrived in the pretty Kerry town of Waterville by default, rather than design, and immediately fell in love with the place. Chaplin was spellbound by its extraordinary natural surroundings, continuing to holiday there along with his entire family for many years. In fact, Waterville is still a bolt hole for some of his children and grandchildren.
The 7th annual comedy film festival is a showcase for Chaplin's enormous corpus of work in the film industry and Chaplin classics will be screened throughout the festival.
Get down to Waterville this August for a real laugh.
Calling All Super Dogs!
Join our dog walk and become a hero with Irish Guide Dogs. Dogs Unite is fun, it’s easy and it’s a great way for you and your dog to help change lives by supporting our four-legged heroes!
‘Dogs Unite’ is a 5KM walk for dog lovers taking place in the Lees Road Sport Complex on Sunday 27th August from 11.00am. You can even bring your own dog along to the walk (although you don’t need a dog to take part!). All entrants receive a t-shirt and a cape for their #superhero dog and all tickets purchased go towards supporting Irish Guide Dogs services.
Registration starts from 11.30am at The Club House, Lees Road Sport Complex. The walk begins at 12pm.

ArtBeat in Waterford

The Glaslough Park After Dark Festival
After a hugely successful first two years, the Park After Dark festival will return again for a third year to Glaslough Village. The festival has gone from strength to strength, attracting more than 1,000 festival goers in 2016, coming from Glaslough, Monaghan county and further afield.
The festival ethos is that it is run by volunteers, supported by sponsors and donations, with 100% of the proceeds being donated to the Glaslough Development Association for community development. Funds generated will go straight towards some much-needed refurbishments for Glaslough Community Centre and Park.
Not only will there be some amazing acts playing at the festival but there will also be communal drum playing, body painting, photo booth as well as a fully licenced bar and fantastic food.
The two stages will provide a line up of unique talent including Accidents in the Workplace, Carron, Corner Boy, Dani, Fields, Keith Plunkett, Litehouse, Megacone, Montauk Hotel, Sun.Set.Ships, Tanjier, Wee Bee and much more.
The festival wouldn’t be possible if it weren’t for the volunteers who help out on the big day as well as the lead-up to the event.

The Centre is a green ward winning building incorporating numerous energy saving technologies and is a working model in the child's. With a 1.5km nature trail along hedges and oak woodland, river bank and across a 400m floating pontoon which gives access to lake habitats there is loads of opportunities to explore a great variety of habitats and ecosystems. Whale Watch Ireland
The Irish Whale and Dolphin Group invites you to our annual, free and guided land-based whale watch at Bloody Bridge, as part of All-Ireland Whale Watch day on Saturday 26th August. While there are no guarantees of sightings, given reasonable weather you have a good chance of seeing some of the marine species that can be viewed locally. You should dress appropriately for the weather and conditions on the day and leave your pets at home. There are no boats involved, as all watches are from land. There may be a short elevated walk from the meeting point to your watch site. We recommend you bring binoculars, your sense of humour and refreshments for this 3 hour field event.
The Black Bull Threshing Festival
That takes just outside Birr, Co. Offaly on Sunday August 27th. It is a fun day out with something for all ages including vintage displays, fittest family competition, children's activities, farm animals, BBQ, traditional colcannon and griddle bread. The event is completely voluntary and all money raised is for local community projects.

Food Fleadh Ballina

We spend a lot of time here at the planetarium looking out at the wonders of space, but what about all the wonderful things that can be found on the Earth, including all the amazing and diverse forms of Life! Cootehill Arts Festival - Festival Miscellany
Cootehill festival invites new writing:
Have you a story or poem you'd like to read in public - or a piece of music to play? If so, Cooehill Arts Festival has a platform for you!
On Sunday morning, 27th August at 11.00 am in the White Star Centre there will b a 'Festival Miscellany' - six or seven short stories and or/poems read by their authors, plus five or six musical inputs - traditional, classical, jazz or contemporary - a 75 minute programme. (The programme may be broadcast - live or retro)
Drumkeerin Community Festival 2017
Saturday, August 26 is a busy day with fishing, clay pigeon shoot, sheep dog trials during the day with the Festival Bingo in Lough Allen College that night, €1,000 to be won on Jackpot page. The final day Sunday, August 27 sees the sports and family day in GAA grounds with Lisa McHugh taking the stage that night in what will be the closing dance.

Round Towers GAA 5K and Family Fun Run
Round Towers GAA are holding their 2nd 5K and family fun run.
Following the success of last years run, we are delighted to be working with Mary Kathryns in raising much needed funds for CMRF / St Johns Ward, Crumlin. This ward is the main paediatric cancer ward in Ireland. This is one of the main childrens cancer wards in the country. This will be a great run through the Kildare countryside.
1st, 2nd & 3rd prize for male and female, All participants in the 5k will receive a custom designed medal. Registration will take place from 9:00 am on Sunday 27th August.
