Energia Family Business Awards COVID-19 Update

Unfortunately, the Energia Family Business Awards have been deferred to a later date in 2020 due to the COVID-19 health crisis. The awards ceremony was due to take place on the 15th of May in the InterContinental Hotel.

While the exact date for the rescheduled awards has yet to be confirmed we are very much committed to celebrating and awarding Irish family businesses this year. In the coming months, with the help of our esteemed judging panel, we will be able to announce the Finalists for the 2020 Energia Family Business Awards. We hope that this announcement can provide a much needed good news story to many family businesses across Ireland in this difficult time.

Following government advice on public health and safety, we will be working to confirm a new date to host the awards ceremony and will update entrants and finalists in a timely manner of all developments related to the awards.

The Energia Family Business Awards Team would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the Family Businesses that took the time to enter the awards this year. We look forward to celebrating your success with you in the near future.

Ireland has a proud tradition of family businesses that power the economy, encourage local buying, and boast an international reputation.

Across the island of Ireland, from SMEs to multinational businesses, the number of family-owned Irish businesses is a testament to the passion of those who run them, delivering quality products and amazing services.

The Energia Family Business Awards will celebrate the longevity and resilience of family-run businesses, with the theme of the event as “growing through generations” for this year.

Now in its 2nd year, The Energia Family Business Awards boasts 18 categories, each of which recognises the outstanding achievements of family-owned businesses in Ireland throughout all sectors and industries.

The oldest official family business in Ireland and the world’s oldest candle company, Rathborne Candles, will be among this year’s entrants. The company, which has experienced centuries of challenges since it was first established in 1488, is a prime example of a business that has powered the economy, encouraged local buying and boosted Ireland’s international reputation. The Energia Family Business Awards celebrate the families, heritage, and success of some of Ireland’s most incredible long-running businesses.

Last year’s awards saw entries from over 200 family businesses, with 18 well-deserved companies being crowned as winners.
