Ladbrokes “saves” on energy

November 05

Leading Irish bookmakers, Ladbrokes, are set to "save" on their energy costs following the renewal of their electricity supply deal with leading energy provider Energia.

Under the terms of the renewed deal, Energia will supply over 8 Gigawatt hours (GWhrs) of electricity to 332 Ladbrokes betting shops. 6 GWhrs will go to power Ladbrokes 259 stores in the Republic of Ireland and 2 GWhrs will power the company’s stores in Northern Ireland. Ladbrokes will continue to use Energia’s Online Premium Service which enables them to analyse their energy consumption, helping them better understand their electricity usage.

Commenting on the deal, Hayley O’Connor, Ladbrokes commented: “The decision to renew our existing contract with Energia was an easy one. They provide us with a winning combination of competitively priced energy alongside great customer service. We have also benefitted from the control that Energia’s Online Premium Service gives us over our electricity consumption and expenditure.”

John King, Key Account Manager, Energia replied: “We are delighted that a major Irish business like Ladbrokes has decided Energia is the best supplier for them in the business energy market. Added to our very attractive price package, we offer excellent customer service and with Energia Online, customers can also analyze and interrogate their energy consumption, discover usage patterns and produce reports. This information in turn can be used with another product, the Energia Bureau, to manage energy efficiency projects in the business.”

Energia is Ireland’s leading independent energy supply company with a 28% market share of the business electricity and gas market on an all–island basis with over 65,000 customers.
