Win €2,000 for your Charity

Energia are proud to be one of the main partners for this years Better Together Campaign. The Better Together Campaign was launched in 2010 by The Wheel, a support and representative body for the Irish community and voluntary sector, which aims to build support for hundreds of charities, community groups, clubs and associations around Ireland through the Better Together Video Competition and The Charity Hero Award.

The Better Together Video Competition:

The Video competition gives charities and voluntary groups a chance to showcase the great work that they are doing to a much wider audience, it’s an opportunity to connect with members of the public, gain new supporters, accept donations and potentially win cash prizes for your organisation.

There are 3 categories that charities, community groups or associations can enter which depend on the size of the organisation:

1.      Small: for volunteer only organisations

2.      Medium: for organisations with staff and a turnover of less than 500,000 euro per year

3.      Large: for organisations with staff and a turnover greater than 500,000 euro per year.

The winner of each category will win €2,000 for their organisation.

There is also a Young Film Makers Category for 13 – 18 year olds which gives young film makers a chance to show off their creative chops and have the chance of winning some great prizes.

The Charity Hero:

The second part of the Better Together Campaign is the Charity Hero Award (In association with the Volunteer Ireland Awards). This is a lifetime achievement award to a volunteer who has dedicated themselves over their life towards a good cause. The public will be invited to vote for their favourite Charity Hero Award nominees from a shortlist of 10 people and the winner will win €1,000 towards their charity or organisation.

Energia are delighted to be partnering with The Better Together Campaign to help raise awareness for the countless organisations and people who work tirelessly in our communities to do good and to help in any way that they can. 1 in 4 Irish adults already volunteer regularly in their community, if you are one of these people or just want to learn about the great work going on around you visit The Better Together website now to find out more.
