To celebrate Global Wind Energy Day 2015, over 100 members of the public and pupils from local primary schools visited the wind farm to learn about the turbines and renewable electricity from Energia staff. Visitors were brought on a tour of the wind farm by Energia staff, who explained how the turbines produce “green” energy. There was also face and turbine painting for the school kids and information for parents and teachers. Energia’s new Thornog wind farm is located to the north of Ederney in Co Fermanagh and south of Castlederg in Co Tyrone, is accessed along the B72 road.
