Energia Group supplies Meade Farm in Navan with 100% Renewable Electricity
Energia Group, a leading supplier of renewable energy in Ireland has announced that it will provide 100% renewable electricity to Meade Farm, a family run business in Lobinstown, Navan. The 24-month contract will give the business 3 GWH of electricity consumption.
An Irish family farm that has been operating since 1982, Meade Farm grows, packs and distributes fresh food produce across Ireland. Their mission is to develop and expand their business in a sustainable way through efficiency and innovation. Promoting their home grown produce and working with local suppliers is at the forefront of their business.
The contract comes with a Guarantees of Origin certificate which means electricity supplied under the two-year contract is generated from renewable sources. This will benefit Meade Farm’s GHG accounting process by reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.
In addition to the renewable electricity offered within the contract, Meade Farm will benefit from intelligent energy analytics provided by Connect 360, a tool that records energy use and monitors environmental conditions. Access to this data will help the business to manage their energy costs, review their electricity usage and understand their environmental impact. This will support the company’s operations in terms of growing, packing and delivering and alleviate waste for the family business.
Robert Devlin, General Manager of Meade Farm spoke about the new contract, “Efficiency and sustainability are at the core of our business and with the help of Energia Group we are continuing to operate at a high level by meeting our customer demands and output. When looking for a supplier that would help with our operations and our sustainability journey, Energia Group stood out. Their commitment to sustainability is important to us. Over the next two years, we are excited to work alongside them in helping to shape our business objectives for our customers and people.”
Deirdre Hurley, Key Account Manager at Energia said, “We are delighted to be supporting Meade Farm. As a family business, they know how key optimal energy efficiency and usage is for their day-to-day operations.
“At Energia Group we engage with our customers to work out their energy demand and from this we make sure we invest in an equal amount of renewable energy to match this need. This is done through our wind farms, solar farms and other renewable sources. We look forward to supporting Meade Farm and helping with their business aims.”
