Energia and Ohk Energy launch new solar energy partnership
Energia announced the launch of a Commercial Solar offering for Irish businesses, adding solar PV and battery storage to its product suite. The offering is delivered in partnership with Ohk Energy and marks Energia’s first move into commercial-scale solar installation.
Ohk Energy brings a strong track record in commercial and industrial solar to the partnership. The company has delivered single solar projects in excess of 4MW for some of Ireland’s largest businesses and large-scale, multi-technology energy projects including integrated solar PV, battery storage and HVO generator solutions exceeding 11MW in total capacity. Ohk Energy employs more than 300 people nationwide with hubs in Monaghan, Dublin, Galway, Mayo, Cork and Tipperary.
Energia’s move into Commercial Solar responds to a demand it has been hearing from customers. Energia’s key account managers stay in touch with the customer from initial inquiry through to project completion, while the technical delivery is handled by Ohk Energy, the Energia-trusted installation partner.
Ciara Hayes, Product and Service Delivery Manager for Energia Customer Solutions, noted that solar energy is becoming an increasingly important part of how Irish businesses manage their energy needs.

Businesses face growing regulatory pressure to report their energy usage, adding further weight to the case for solar PV paired with monitoring capability. Businesses installing solar energy under the new Energia Commercial Solar offering may be eligible to access the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant (NDMG), a subsidy towards the cost of installing solar panels on commercial premises.
The grant is available for systems from 1 kWp up to 1,000 kWp, with funding tiered by system size and capped at €162,600 for the largest installations. Ohk Energy works with customers to align funding, system sizing and consumption data before an application goes in, ensuring the grant supports a system built to perform well beyond installation.
