Lord Mayor’s Day (Belfast)

Largely taking place in the grounds of City Hall with some activity at 2 Royal Avenue, the theme for the year is ‘Celebrating Belfast’ and will feature some of the brilliant talent Lord Mayor has met during her year in office.
The free, fun-filled day will be packed with lots of activities, for the young and young at heart.


 

City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival (Derry)

Anyone looking for the perfect way to start to summer should look no further than Derry, where the City of Derry Jazz & Big Band Festival returns this May Bank Holiday weekend, from 27 April – 1 May 2023.
This is the 22nd iteration of the Festival which has grown year on year to become the biggest and best Jazz showcase in Ireland, making it the favourite stop off for hundreds of musicianson the jazz circuit. Artists travel from around the world to take part, many making it anannual pilgrimage and building a huge local fanbase who turn out each year to see their favourites.

Danni Simpson is an Australian Artist, based in Northern Ireland, who specialises in Commercial murals and Illustrations. Danni continues to travel the world leaving her mark wherever she goes and hopes to ignite a creative spark in everyone who sees her art.
Adult Workshop commences 10am and requires booking
THIS IS A COMPLIMENTARY EVENT
All equipment will be provided on the day which means all you have to do is show up and get creative!
Kids Drop-in session 2-4pm, this does not require pre-booking
From 2pm onwards, feel free to pop in with your little ones for a fun and engaging street art workshop with Danni Simpson.

Lá Mór na Gaeilge 2023 is a compelling celebration of the Irish language. This year there are a series of workshops on the evolution of Irish and how it has grown during this time, music and dance workshops, decoding old Irish text seminars, new communities on their journey with Irish, history walks, Yoga Oga, an Irish twist on the pop classics of Fleetwood Mac, Kate Bush and Cher and 50 bodhrán banging children! We are glad to say that with some help from our local Co.Co and the amazing support from all our followers DB on the Quay is back for another year and this year we hope to make it even better. The show once again with all its proceeds going to charity is well under way of planning, organizing and finalizing. 

This years charity of choice is the one and only BUMBLEANCE national children's ambulance service. This amazing cause has caught our attention since 2021 and the start of our FUELED series with some serious funds and projects being fueled by the club. The event is once again on the beautiful quay front of Wexford harbor and so setting the perfect back drop to get a snap of your pride and joy in the sun.

The Ballydehob Jazz Festival takes place across the village of Ballydehob, gateway to the Mizen Peninsula in West Cork, Ireland, on the Wild Atlantic Way.
The village hosts over 40 live music and dance performances that range from big name concerts to small workshops; from lively pub gigs to intimate side shows and a healthy dose of fringe attractions to compliment.

 

Cork International Choral Festival (Cork)

Founded in 1954 to be a dynamic force in developing choral music in Ireland, the Cork International Choral Festival is held annually over the five days preceding the first Monday in May in venues across the city, centring around the City Hall, one of the most attractive and acoustically superb venues in Ireland.





 

Curragh Building Demonstration at Bonane Heritage Park (Kerry)


Where: Bonane Heritage Park, Kenmare, County Kerry

Admission: Admission to the heritage park is €5, and admission to the demonstration is free.

Ireland has a long history of using skin boats known as curraghs or currachs. Around fourteen types are still in use along the west coast of Ireland.
A master builder will be demonstrating the building of the Dunfanaghy style currach, a type that incorporates hazel rods in the construction, at Bonane Heritage Park on Sunday 30th April from 2-4pm.

We are delighted to welcome visitors to the Gardens at Lismore Castle and Lismore Castle Arts for the 2023 season.
The beautiful gardens of Lismore Castle, set within the outer defensive walls, are divided into three parts, the Reilig Garden, the Upper Garden, and the Lower Garden and collectively cover 10 acres/four hectares. In them you can find many horticultural gems including a large collection of rhododendrons, camellias, and magnolias as well as a working kitchen garden.
