How to register for Energy Online
Registering for Energy Online can be completed in just a couple of clicks, follow these steps to unlock those additional saving and online account services...
- 1. Visit our Energy Online registration page and click the register button.
- 2. Enter your email address and create a password, remember these details as you will use them each time you want to log into your account.
- 3. You will need to enter your Energia account number which can be found on the top a recent bill or letter.
- 4. Complete your personal details and a quick security check.
- 5. Pick your communication preferences.
- 6. Agree to the terms and conditions
- 7. Click confirm and you’re all set!
- You can now log in to you Energy Online account as and when you need access to your energy info.

You can register for an online account via our website or by downloading our app. Follow the steps on screen to set up your account online. You will need your 10-digit account number to register.
Log in to your online account and go to My Details. You can update any of your personal details shown on the screen.

You can update your preferences by logging into your online account. Go to My Details > Privacy Centre to make changes.
You can view bills in your online account. These can be accessed from the dashboard or "My Bills". You can download, save and print your bills.

If a meter reader from ESBN or Gas Networks Ireland has read your meter, this will take priority over the reading you submitted online. There may be a slight variance in the readings.
To unlock your account select I've forgotten my password on the log in page and follow the steps to reset your password. Once your password has been changed you will be able to access your account again.

To retrieve your username, select I've forgotten my username on the log in page and follow the steps. After you complete the process, we will send you an email containing your username.
No need to worry if you notice no service in your online account. The full process of switching your gas or electricity account can take up to 2-3 weeks. Before your account becomes active, we need to wait for confirmation from ESB Networks or Gas Networks Ireland that the switch has completed. It is normal for the services to complete at different times.
You may be unable to submit a meter reading online if:
- ESB Networks or Gas Networks Ireland have already provided a reading
- A reading is not currently required - you’ll receive an email when it is
Important information about meter types
- Automatic readings only work for a reconfigured smart meter on MCC12 with good connectivity.
- If you have an MCC16 meter or a smart meter that has not been reconfigured, we will still ask you to send us your meter readings.
