The agency will manage the leading national energy provider’s partnership with Leinster Rugby

11th October: Energia, one of Ireland’s leading and most competitive suppliers of electricity and gas, has appointed sponsorship and communications agency Legacy Consultants to manage its partnership with Leinster Rugby and the naming rights of Energia Park.

Energia announced in March of this year that it would act as an official energy partner of Leinster Rugby for ten years. Under the partnership, Donnybrook Stadium has been renamed to Energia Park, the permanent home of the Leinster first team, A team, Sub-academy, Women’s, U19’s, U18’s and much more play/train here.

After a competitive pitch process, Legacy demonstrated an in-depth knowledge of the industry and an unrivalled understanding for sponsorship activation. With a client list that includes Littlewoods Ireland, Laya Healthcare, Volkswagen, Glenisk, Carling, AIG, and SuperValu, Legacy has extensive expertise in activating sponsorships that yield tangible and quantifiable returns for business.

Commenting on the appointment Geoff Codd, Head of Marketing & Retail Development for Energia commented; “This is a significant appointment for Energia as we look to maximise or relationship with Leinster Rugby, and position as premium partner to the team. Legacy showed an understanding of our brand and what we are looking to achieve in the future, both at a local and national level among our existing and prospective customers. We are looking forward to working with the Legacy team to maximise the partnership and supporting Leinster Rugby in their future endeavours on and off the pitch.”

Bernard Brogan, Commercial Director for Legacy commented: “This is an exciting time for Energia. The brand identified Leinster Rugby as a property that shares similar values; they’re experts in what they do, they’re resourceful, and they continuously challenge themselves. Our sponsorship communications team here in Legacy is looking forward to collaborating with Energia to amplify the Leinster partnership and ultimately show tangible business results.

Rachel Solon, Head of Sport for Legacy commented; “We are delighted to be working with the team in Energia to bring its rugby partnerships to life. As Energia begins its 10-year partnership with Leinster Rugby, we are excited to begin the creative journey of an ever-evolving, insight driven campaign. We pride ourselves on innovative, agile, through-the-line thinking that connects fans and customers through a shared passion. Energia is uniquely placed with its sponsorship of both the team and grounds and we look forward to collaborating with them for the 2019/20 season and beyond.”
