Longford Live & Local is a program organised by Longford County Council Arts Office, providing free music throughout the summer of 2021. The program is funded through the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Sport and Media.

Please ring 0404 45325 to collect a free sheet from the OPW staff in Glendalough. Sheets can be collected/returned throughout Heritage Week Sat 14 August - Sun 22 August from 09:30 – 17:00.
The winning family will be announced the following week. Please be aware that there is a €4.00 parking fee in the Glendalough Visitor Centre Carpark.

Helen and John Browne wanted visitors to extend their adventure at Doolin Cave from underground to over ground and so the Doolin Cave Nature Trail was born. The theme of biodiversity is very close to Helen and John’s heart. Keeping this theme to the fore, they planted native, indigenous shrubs and trees and native wildflower meadows around the grounds of Doolin Cave, thus creating the Doolin Cave Looped Nature Trail.

The talk will give a general introduction to hedgehogs – where they live, what they eat and some weird and wonderful hedgehog facts. The Irish Hedgehog Volunteer Survey is currently underway and there is a great opportunity to be involved in a valuable and enjoyable activity. There will also be some helpful hints for what you can do to make your local area a better place for hedgehogs.

The hedgehog survey is supported by National Parks and Wildlife Service, the Ulster Wildlife Trust and the Heritage and Biodiversity Offices of Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Kilkenny and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Councils and Dublin City Council.
