ConTempo Quartet will perform Shostakovich’s String Quartet No. 8 in C Minor, composed in 1960, which the composer privately stated was a eulogy to himself. The quartet will also perform Galway composer Katharina Baker’s Galway Suite in tribute to her contribution to music education and music-making in Galway city and county.

Join the Marble Arch Caves, on a guided walk through Killykeeghan Nature Reserve an area built and carved by sea and ice, and home to a succession of human communities for thousands of years, local life continues to this day as people go about their daily lives living on the limestone.
 
Although life is much different to that of our early ancestors who arrived at Killykeeghan, many traditions remain, a tribute to the rich history and heritage, a legacy left behind. An illustration is a wonderful tool that can be used as a form of expression and learning. We will learn about Irish nature and the connection to Celtic folklore and traditions.

Led by visual artist Grace Haynes, who is currently writing a children’s education book in Irish and English, the young people will create artwork in response to stories and information.

But in a world where facts and figures mean so much more than fairy tale and fantasy, Mac has to dig deeper to prove what he finds is what he thinks it is.
 
Performer and writer Paul Curley and designer Ger Clancy, in collaboration with award-winning theatre artist Robert Alan Evans, bring this theatre adventure in archaeology to life. The Dig spins a classic yarn into a brand-new light that will delight audiences young and old.
