‘Sing out with Strings’ is the Irish Chamber Orchestra’s flagship community engagement programme has been running now for 14 years. The programme began in 2008 as a response to Limerick’s regeneration process. A team of musicians provide weekly sessions for all children attending partnering schools. Activities include singing and songwriting, violin, viola, cello and double bass, choir and orchestra as well as afterschool activities, holiday camps, public performances and concerts.
Sing out with Strings addresses issues of inclusion, equality and access and highlights the numerous benefits that a long term project of this nature can have on the children, staff, parents and the wider community.

The Climate Action Seminar will bring a range of expert speakers who will address issues of climate change and biodiversity loss, its impact on our seas and bogs, and offer solutions and hope for a better future. Parliament Buildings is one of the best known and most striking pieces of architecture in Northern Ireland. The architect Sir Arnold Thornely, who was knighted by King George V in recognition of his architectural work, designed the building with perfect symmetry and symbolism, such as the building being 365ft wide representing one foot for every day of the year; having six floors and six pillars at the entrance, one for each county in Northern Ireland.

Longford's annual Dead of Night Festival returns this Halloween night from 6pm at Connolly Barracks in Longford Town! This free and frightful festival is sure to scare all ages with the spectacular Dead of Night Parade, the scream-worthy Spook Walk, and a bone-chilling Beacon bonfire-alternative. There are spooky storytelling sessions, as well as acrobats, magicians and fire dancers and chilling competitions for best costume and best decorated pumpkin. You can also scare everyone with your dancing as our DJ plays all the Halloween hits.
